George Washington…A Hero

I think that George Washington is a great hero. I am sure that every American would think the same way too. He was a great General swine he was a young man. He has great leadership powers which aren’t something very common. Let me show you examples that will show you why I think he is a great hero. He helped lead America by leading America to independence by commanding the Patriots to victory in most of the wars fought with the British such as the Battle of Yorktown, where George Washington ordered his troops to hold the town of Yorktown under siege until the British general Charles Cornwallis surrendered. He made Heroic movements and strategies while he fought in battles and wars to be victorious over the British. One of his strategies when he decided to attack the Hessians at Trenton, New Jersey, was to surprise attack them during Christmas night. The battle lasted less than an hour before the Patriots captured more than 900 Hessians because the Hessians weren’t ready for the battle. Another one was when he lit a fire not-so-far away from the British’s settlement. The British came towards the fire in the night. The Patriots surrounded them and attacked them in the morning. The British fled, and the Patriots won the Battle of Princeton. That is the main idea. All in all, George Washington was a great leader with amazing strategies that made the Patriots win almost every time. His great efforts and power led him to become the first president of the United States of America. He truly fits that position because of his great leadership and firm decisions. George Washington is a true hero who helped many “enslaved” American lives.
